Danny's Hotdogs - Best Hotdogs in Norfolk, VA

I really like ordering breakfast from this place, it's convenient and they're open early mornings for delivery plus the food is pretty good. The one con is the portions that they give for turkey bacon. You get one piece of turkey bacon with your meal, and they cut it in half to appear as 2 pieces of bacon. That's kind of ridiculous. Update: I returned to order again, and they have corrected the portions. Thank you Dannys.

**Updated 7/30/2025** Changed 1 star to 4 star. I went myself today. The chili was a little off, but about 90% the same. Still good, still worth eating. Added another pic of the chili through the years with dates***** My mother who has been going to Danny’s Hot Dogs for at least 30 years went last week on 7/9/2025 and says their hot dog chili recipe has changed. She was heartbroken and so am I. That was the one thing that kept me going back. This pic is from January 2024 and what it should look like.

The food was amazing. I got the cheesesteak and was not disappointed. Husband had the hot dogs and onion rings and loved every bite! Will definitely come again. People were nice and welcoming.

First review done entirely from the car. Loving the Norfolk area with it's many hot dog institutions. Danny's is another one to add to the list. Pull up, honk your horn, they'll come out and take your order, credit cards accepted. A minute later you gots your food. Hot dogs are completely customized by you with a lot of different toppings. I spotted at least one picnic table else eat in your vehicle or take it somewhere. Good place. Large menu.

First time at Danny’s but my boyfriend has been coming here for 30 years! The fries are amazing and BLT was excellent! I know you’re saying it’s just a BLT, but man! It’s piled high with bacon and lettuce and tomato! Theresa has been waiting on my Jackie all these years!

Danny's is a small drive-in diner. They serve more than just hot dogs. There's breakfast, wraps, burgers, subs, club sandwiches, etc. You pull up outside and honk your horn, and the server comes out and takes your order. You can dine-in as well, however the seating is VERY limited. There was a total of 3 tables that were available with 2, 3, and 4 seats per table. There are two more tables inside, but they were occupied by the restaurant for storage. I had the 1/2 lb chili dog foot long sub. It was excellent. The chili tastes home made, the dogs were also really good on their own. Served with a side of crinkle cut fries. Pretty standard drive-in diner type food. My buddy got the cheese burger sub and thought highly of it. The brownies and cookies are fresh baked and great tasting too.

Purchased 2 hot dogs, chips, and a tea today. The total was $12.62. Not including my tip. Inflation is up so I feel like I can't knock them on their prices. The waitress was delightful. She comes to your car and takes your order. The food was delicious. So I wasn't disappointed at all. The bun was a lil too bready for me. But I will definitely try them again. A hot dog is $3.69. Update: Went back on 9/12/23 and tried a bacon, egg, & cheese on toast. I was so good too!

Stopped by for a bite while we waited on an oil change. Absolutely delicious breakfast. The food was fresh, hot, and cheap! The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Don’t miss out on Danny’s for breakfast or lunch.
